Cambelts are an important part of your vehicle’s engine – and can be quite difficult to care for as it is not visible. Should you hear your engine often misfire, hear a strange ticking noise, or even spot oil leaking from the front of your vehicle, it could be time to get your cambelt replaced.
Cambelt replacement in Peterborough
The cambelt, also known as the timing belt, is one of the most crucial components of your engine. Over time this can become damaged or worn. As such, manufacturers suggest either a time or mileage-based change.
This can range from 40,000 miles to 100,000 miles, or 4 to 6 years, whichever comes first. Please note that these intervals, however, should be treated as the absolute maximum, as failure of the cambelt can cause serious mechanical damage.
If you require your cambelt replacing or are unsure if yours is due, contact our friendly team of mechanics who will be happy to help advise you and, if necessary, book you in for replacement.
